Boyne Island is located approximately 20 kilometres south of the closest major centre, which is Gladstone. Gladstone is 550 kilometres north of Brisbane and 100 kilometres south-east of Rockhampton. The population of the Gladstone region is approximately 60,000 people.

In close proximity to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and as one of Australia’s fastest growing industrial centres, Gladstone offers the best of both worlds.

Gladstone is recognised as a centre for employment hosting two of the world’s largest alumina refineries, an expanding Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry, and Queensland’s largest multi-commodity port.

Just a short drive from the centre of Gladstone is the picturesque, relaxed community of Boyne Island and Tannum Sands, showcasing the best aspects of a coastal lifestyle.

Additionally, the Gladstone airport is approximately six kilometres from the town centre and primarily services business and leisure travellers. Gladstone Hospital caters for the region’s population with general and specialist services, as well as a multi-disciplinary community health centre.
